PGA WEST Golf Academy offers top instruction for golfers of all skill levelsAt the PGA WEST Golf Academy, no detail is overlooked when it comes to helping golfers improve their games. Whether the student is a touring professional looking to refine certain aspects of their swing or a high handicapper seeking the skills to enjoy the game more, PGA WEST has all the tools to help every golfer meet their goals. Lead Instructor Bryan Lebedevitch has been a big part of the Golf Academy’s success since coming to PGA WEST nearly 25 years ago, heading a team of pros with vast experience and expertise. “We have an award-winning staff with proven results at every level,” Lebedevitch said. “The detail taken with each student is what helps to keep our golfers on the road to improvement. PGA WEST is a truly unbelievable venue, providing the best in practice facilities as well as championship golf courses to work on all aspects of your game.” In addition to being the full-time coach of LPGA star Cristie Kerr since 2004, Lebedevitch has worked with many other tour pros, including Si Woo Kim (the winner of this year’s The American Express at PGA WEST), Scott Hebert, Tom Purtzer, Jason Gore, Liselotte Neumann, Nicole Castrale, Irene Cho and Angela Park. He teaches golfers of all levels in the desert and travels to 12-15 LPGA Tour events throughout the year. Named to many of the top teachers lists by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine, Lebedevitch prides himself on being able to adapt to each student and work within their individual skill set to help them achieve their personal goals. “I treat every golfer differently as their needs and goals will be individual as well as the skill sets that they bring to the game,” Lebedevitch said. “My training as an instructor has me evaluate the given situation for each student, detail the course of action, and build a game plan to improve. All of our teachers at the Academy believe in that blue print, and it is very effective in streamlining the improvement process.” Lebedevitch began his career at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland shortly after graduating from Loyola University. He later worked for legendary instructor Jim McLean and his golf schools in Miami, where he said he pushed himself to be the best he could be and to learn as much as possible to help golfers in their quest to improve. He came to PGA WEST in 1998. While he boasts an impressive resume, Lebedevitch isn’t one to rest on his laurels. The basic tenets of golf instruction may not change, but there’s always something new to learn in terms of technique, technology, or how to approach golfers of different abilities. He said the challenge to always improve is part of what keeps him motivated. “I think part of my success can be attributed to the continual quest to learn throughout my time teaching golf,” Lebedevitch said. “I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the best players and teachers in the game. This time helped mold my ideas on all areas and helped me realize that communication of ideas and clarity in what you are teaching are of the utmost importance.” At the PGA WEST Golf Academy, the motto is: “Our team is here to better your game, one swing at a time.” The Academy offers lessons for small and large groups as well as customized individual sessions on the resort’s world-class practice facility and golf courses. State-of-the-art video analysis and launch monitor systems are employed as the foundation of a data-driven evaluation process, and the Academy’s instructors add a human touch to translate that information into measurable improvement.
Lebedevitch said there is nothing he’d rather be doing, and there’s no place he’d rather be doing it than at PGA WEST. “I enjoy being around people who have interest in this great game,” he said. “I get to meet so many golfers from different walks of life, and that never gets old. But the greatest feeling as a coach is when you can help others to reach their personal goals and play at a higher level.” CLICK HERE to learn more about the PGA WEST Golf Academy.
