5 cardiovascular exercises to improve your heart, health and golf gameCardiovascular fitness may not be on the top of every golfer’s list – after all, most of us travel around in golf carts. But getting your body moving and performing exercises that increase your cardio activity can benefit your heart, body, health, mind, and golf game, according to Mike Hansen of Hansen Fitness for Golf in Irvine. For the best results, Hansen recommends interval training, which includes performing an exercise that raises your heart rate and then resting to let it drop back down. Golf is an interval sport, Hansen says, as your heart rate will go up when hitting a shot, and go down in-between shots. In this video, Hansen will show you five exercises you can do at home to improve your cardiovascular fitness that will help for those moments on the course when you have to walk a long distance, or up a hill to a tee box, or during a pressure situation in a golf tournament. And, the exercises are ideal if you are still tentative about going back to your gym or if it is still closed. –– Mike Hansen is recognized as one of the original golf fitness coaches.
