Indian Wells Golf Resort’s nighttime venue adds a spark to golf in SoCal

Las Vegas may have Top Golf, but Southern California has Shots in the Night.

Known for its evening golf and entertainment activities, Shots in the Night opened at Indian Wells Golf Resort in 2018, and has been lighting up the nightlife in the Coachella Valley ever since, much the way Top Golf has for visitors in Las Vegas.

Shots in the Night offers guests an experience unlike any other in Southern California, with an after-dark scene that includes golf games, lights, lasers, smoke machines, music, and food and drinks.

The venue opened for the season on October 15, and will operate Thursday-Saturday nights through Memorial Day 2021. With its exciting golf games and activities, Shots in the Night is ideal for get-togethers with friends, families, and business associates, whether participants are seasoned golfers or beginners.

“The golf industry continues to look for new ways for non-golfers to be introduced to a version of the game that is easier, takes less time, and is much more fun than the demanding game that we as golfers love,” said Mike Tebbetts, the Director of Sales and Marketing at Indian Wells Golf Resort. “That is what Shots in the Night is all about.”

Home to the award-winning Players and Celebrity courses by day, Indian Wells Golf Resort lights up in the evening with Shots in the Night.

On the driving range, large and colorful inflatable targets beam with light and make noise when hit with special glow balls that are provided. There are a number of games golfers can play, too, including Closest to the Pin, Around the World, 21, Lights-Out, Cricket, High Score, and H.O.R.S.E. On the nine-hole putting course, computer-generated lasers project games onto the green, such as Golf Darts, Shuffleboard, Corn Hole, Around the World, and a 9-Hole Challenge.

Adding to the vibrant social scene is the Indian Wells Food Truck, where visitors can grab a drink and a bite to eat. The fare features creations from the resort’s Executive Chef Nestor Ruiz, and includes items such as a Short Rib Grilled Cheese, Nacho Libre with homemade tortilla chips, Ruiz’s award-winning Lamb & Beef Chili, and Funnel Cake Fries and Cookies & Cream Waffles for dessert.

The drink menu features domestic, import and craft beer, wine, well liquor, and on-the-rocks specialty drinks such as a Knobb Creek Old Fashion, Effin Vodka Cosmo, Tres Generacions Jalapeño Pineapple Margarita, and Curuzan Mai Tai.

Indian Wells Golf Resort is also taking the necessary precautions for the health and safety of its guests and staff at Shots in the Night.

“This kind of an activity is really perfect for social distancing,” Tebbetts said. “You’re looking at a maximum group size of six people to a green or a hitting bay, and it’s all outdoors.”
