3 stretching exercises to help back pain If there’s one thing golfers fear as much as a short par 3 over water to an island green, it’s that dreaded twinge in the spine after an awkward swing that leads to intense back pain. And some golfers experience it before they even get to the first tee. “More than 80 percent of people who play golf, play with some type of back pain in their lifetime,” says Mike Hansen, the owner of Hansen Fitness for Golf in Irvine. But golfers don’t have to suffer. In this video, there are three stretching exercises designed to help alleviate back pain now and to prevent it from occurring in the future.
They focus on shoulder turn mobility, internal hip rotation and core stability. Give them a try and see if they can help you stay at the top of your game. – Mike Hansen is recognized as one of the original golf fitness coaches. Mike owns and operates Hansen Fitness for Golf, which he founded in 2001. Hansen Fitness for Golf specializes in training golfers of all abilities, from beginners to seasoned professional tour players.
