Woodland Hills Country Club, a 95-year-old William Bell Sr.-designed track located in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains in the west San Fernando Valley, has a new general manager. Ron Banaszak, who previously served as the chief operating officer at The Fountaingrove Club in Santa Rosa, will oversee all elements of Woodland Hills CC from golf operations, agronomy, and sales/marketing to food & beverage and fitness club operations. Banaszak’s career has included leadership roles at St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, Long Beach Yacht Club in Long Beach, Glendora Country Club in Glendora and Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club in Corona Del Mar. “Ron has a great deal of passion for the member experience and for creating environments where employees can do their best work,” said Bill O’Brien, Senior Vice President for Troon Privé, which assumed management of the club in early August. “He’s committed to understanding the club’s people and working tirelessly to insure the member experience remains a point of pride for everyone.”
Known for its slick greens and narrow, oak tree-lined fairways, the par-70 Woodland Hills CC has hosted several regional and USGA sectional tournaments, including the Western Regional for the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship, qualifying for the USGA Junior Amateur Championship and qualifying for the California State Senior Amateur Championship.
